Caramalized Banana Cream Top Hojicha Latte

  Prep Time: 5-10 mins        Makes 1 serving


Ingredients

Caramelized Banana Cream

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

  1. Use a 36oz cup/jar and fill to top with ice
  2. Add 300-350ml of choice of milk
  3. Sift 8-10g or 2.5 teaspoons of hojicha powder.
  4. Pour in 100ml of warm water and whisk.
  5. Add hojicha to your cup/jar.
  6. Top off with caramelized banana cream (made with around 80ml-100ml of heavy whipping cream and 3-4 tablespoons of caramelized banana compote ⬇️ recipe below).

Banana Cream Top

  1. Add two ripe bananas to a pot and turn heat to medium high.
  2. Mash bananas with a fork/spatula/etc. while it is cooking.
  3. Once it becomes more brown and mushy, add a half cup of brown sugar and keep stirring/cooking on medium low hear to caramelize.
  4. Once it starts to get thicker, add a half cup water and keep stirring for 5-10mins to desired texture.
  5. Let cool and store in jar in fridge for up to a week!
